Fenmen's water dogs accompany them to heaven
"'Humble race of men, Alike amphibious, by kind Nature's hand Form'd to exist on water or on land, But thinks, admitted to that equal sky, His faithful dog shall bear him company.'"
The Inundation; or The Life of a Fen-man: A Poem., by a Fen-Parson (Lynn: W. Whittingham, ca 1771). Quoted in Payne-Gallwey, p. 110.

What is WILDFOWLING.COM?
WILDFOWLING.COM was designed and published on the internet to provide a service to UK wildfowlers and wildfowling associations. Please e-mail the webmaster with your associations web presence and WILDFOWLING.COM will be only too pleased to publish a link on this page. Other submissions for wildfowling content material also gratefully received.
WILDFOWLING.COM hopes to attract commercial support and make substantial donations to BASC for the benefit of wildfowling. For banner advertising please contact the Webmaster.
When time allows I will update this site
to include all issues of importance to Wildfowling. For now, I wanted to get
the site up and running in time for the 2000/2001 season. Examples of items
for content could include articles, wildfowl carving, reloading, club press
releases and recipes etc. WILDFOWLING.COM aims to provide UK wildfowlers with
the best and most up to date information about wildfowling on the net. Please
e-mail the webmaster for suggestions of content and how best the site can be
presented in order to service the wildfowling community. Please check back soon
to see these improvements!

PRESS RELEASE FROM
THE WASH JOINT COUNCIL OF WILDFOWLING ASSOCIATIONS
WAH WILDFOWLERS ANNOUNCE THIRD EAST COAST WILDFOWLING CONFERENCE 2005.
Once again, in the absence of a national wildfowling conference in 2005, the eight wildfowling clubs of the Wash are organising a regional event for the East Coast. The event is sponsored by Shooting Times and is also
supported by Attleborough Accessories, Thyme Consultants, Tidepool Wildfowling, and Whittlesey Gunshop. The conference is to be run in cooperation with BASC Eastern Region, but is not a BASC event.
Invitations will be shortly be sent to clubs from the Humber to the Medway to meet at Hillington, just outside King's Lynn, Norfolk, on Saturday October 8th 2005.
The event follows the two previous successful regional conferences organised in 2001 and 2003 by the Wash and Blakeney clubs.
Ian Branford, Chairman of the eight-club Wash Joint Council, said :
"There has never been a more challenging time to run a wildfowling club.
We will be meeting in the aftermath of a general election, and amid proposed reforms in everything from coastal management and agricultural policy to game and gun legislation.
However, clubs have been finding and sharing solutions to problems for a long time now and we will continue to do so whether it is national legislation or local goose problems. We particularly extend a
welcome to representatives from smaller clubs and syndicates, whether affiliated to BASC or not. In the past a number of people have come to us as their first ever conference, have enjoyed it, and have
gone on to attend national events. A large proportion of the country's fowling clubs lie within two hours drive of the venue and we can promise delegates another lively, interesting and useful day. With the help of our sponsors the cost will be kept under £25 per head."
